American Mountain Guides Association Single Pitch Instructor Course/Assessment
The AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course is designed for active climbers who are interested in leading groups
(camp, school, scout, gym, etc.) in an outdoor single pitch setting. The SPI course is 27 hours long over
3 days. The assessment is a separate 16-hour process over 2 days. The SPI program is designed to enable instructors
to 'proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch setting.' Local venues
include, but are not limited to, Rumney and areas in Franconia Notch.

2 Day Learning to Lead Course
This two-day course teaches the fundamental techniques of competent leading. We focus on appropriate gear
placement, anchors, rope management, and belay techniques. This course addresses both sport and traditional
climbing. Over a series of mock leads you will gain more confidence and efficiency as you step into an exciting new world.

2 Day Self Rescue Course
Have you ever wondered "What if?" while climbing and then wished you hadn't asked the question? Do you know
how to escape a belay? Rescue an injured leader? Do a tandem rappel? Haul your partner above a crux section he can't do?
If you climb outdoors on a regular basis, you definitely should!! It's astonishing how many climbers don't know these vital
safety techniques.
If you aren't familiar with lowering and hauling systems, passing knots, and specialized rappelling techniques, this course
could be the most important training you ever receive. Our two-day self rescue course fills these gaps in your climbing skills,
and is applicable to all types of roped climbing. On our two-day course you will practice the skills needed to rescue an injured
leader or follower and bring them above a crux, to the top of the cliff, or to the ground.

American Mountain Guides Association Rock Instructor Course
This intensive 10 day course is for active climbers with 5 years experience that wish to learn and practice the
skills needed to enter the profession of rock guiding traditional multi pitch rock terrain. The AMGA's curriculum is
followed to ensure students are prepared for guiding multiple guests on multi pitch rock climbs. This course is scheduled throughout the climbing
season. Our climbing venues will include Cathedral Ledge, Cannon Cliff, Rumney and other crags in Franconia Notch.

2 Day Top Rope Site Management Course
This two-day top rope course is a great way for people who are just starting to climb outdoors to get
comfortable with fundamental rope techniques. If you've climbed in a gym or with a mountain guide it is the logical
first step in becoming a proficient outdoor climber. On this course we work on anchor techniques, starting with natural
anchors and moving on to more complex equipment. We learn how to properly set up top ropes and how to avoid common
and dangerous mistakes. We also cover belaying techniques from both the top and bottom of cliffs.
