Mammut Alpine SchoolThe Mammut Alpine School and Mooney Mountain Guides are teaming up for the 2017 winter season. We are offering two weekend mountain and ice climbing adventures. One on Mt Washington and the other at various NH ice climbing venues. Climb with experienced AMGA/IFMGA guide Art Mooney. The MAS/MMG philosophy is all about your goals as our guest. The primary goal is for you to achieve a quality education, a challenging experience, and the rewards of excellence during your two day alpine mountain climb or ice climbing adventure. Whether your climb is on the extreme slopes of Mt Washington or the spectacular snow and ice gullies in Crawford Notch NH, this weekend of instruction, practice and guidance will push you to your mental and physical edge. Mountaineering 101One-day course held in Crawford Notch NH. Learn the basics of gear, crampons use, mountain axe use, climbing low angle ice, and steep snow. Climb a real New Hampshire alpine objective.

Mountaineering 202One-day course designed to advance your skills while climbing one of Mt. Washington’s technical routes. Put your cramponing, mountain axe work, and endurance to the test. If climbing alpine objectives around North America or Europe is a future goal, this course is perfect for you.
Cost:$200 per person
Advanced MountaineeringThis course is designed for individuals who wish to become a serious mountaineer. Meet your guide in the morning for one of New Hampshire’s alpine test pieces, followed by dinner in town. Days two and three will be spent on a traverse of the Northern Presidential Range. If weather and ambition permits, you will spend a night in a snow cave between days two and three.

AMGA Single Pitch InstructorThe AMGA Single Pitch Instructor Course (SPI) is designed for active climbers who are interested in leading groups (camp, school, scout, gym, etc.) in an outdoor single pitch rock climbing setting.
The SPI course is 27 hours long over 3 days. The assessment is a separate 16-hour process over 2 days. The SPI program is designed to enable climbing instructors to 'proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch rock climbing setting.
Local venues include, but are not limited to, Rumney Rocks, Echo Crag and Artists Bluff in the Franconia Notch area.
